2017-2018 Season
Ohata had an immediate impact in her first year competing for the Lions on both the Cross Country and Track & Field programs...Ohata had a strong presence on the team running a Cross Country season best with a 21:46 at the Vanguard Invitational...At the Cal Pac Conference Championships, Ohata was the last scorer for the Lions, helping clinch a 2nd place team finish...Ohata fought against a persistent injury during her Track season, but posted a solid 12:17.01 in the 3K and ran a strong 20:41.98 in her first Track 5K.

High School
Graduating from Kansai Soka High School in 2016, Ohata did not compete in any sports, but played clarinet in the school's brass band.

Born in Osaka, Japan to parents Shinobu and Kyoko Ohata...Also considered attending Sophia University (in Japan)...Ohata is learning Spanish, and is fluent in English and Japanese...Hobbies outside of running include: playing clarinet, listening to music, and hiking.
