2017-2018 Season
Cheam had another strong year with the Lions...producing some of the fastest times for the Lions in all her events, as she swam to the NAIA National Championships for the second year in a row...swimming the 50 Back (31.89), 100 Back (1:09.11), 200 Back (2:23.87), 100 Breast (1:08.66), 200 Breast (2:32.57), 200IM (2:15.18), and 400IM (4:48.04).

High School
Homeschooled through the Delat International School in Penang, Malaysia... swam for Delat International for five years...also a member of the Gymnastics and Tae-Kwon do teams...won the gold medal for the 50m Breast Stroke and silver medal for the 100m Breast Stroke in the 2016 National School Swim Championships held in Malaysia.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona...moved to Malaysia when she was six years old...parents Chee Pin Cheam and Chek Li Gan...Clarissa's father, Chee Pin Cheam was a member of the National Volleyball team of Malaysia...has one sibling; younger brother, Clarence, who is also a swimmer...swam for the for the Penang Swimming Club of Malaysia...volunteered with the Penang Turf Club...also considered attending Hendrix College, The College of Wooster, and Gustavus Adolphus College before committing to Soka University of America...Studying Spanish and concentrating in either Humanities or Environmental Science at SUA...speaks Chinese.
