Biography
Entering 2015
During his first season running for the cross country team, Lee will be a force on the course for the Lions... after a mid-season change from sprint to distance events during the 2015 outdoor track season, this decision has proven to bode well for Nick as he will look to continue to excel in the 1500M and continue to be an asset to the Soka track & field program.
2014-2015 Season
After spending his first semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, Nick returned to the track & field team as a distance runner, opposed to his previous role as a sprinter. Lee PR'ed at the Triton Invitational in the 1500M with a time of 45:52.73 on Apr. 24th...Lee also earned the 2014-2015 SUA Scholar Athlete award at the annual athletics banquet on May 11...he also earned the Daktronics Scholar Athlete award for both indoor and outdoor track...off the track Nick was treasurer for the Junior Class Senate and worked as a school photographer.
2013-2014 Season
Setting indoor PR's in the 60M (7.85) and the 200M (27.10) as well as setting an outdoor college best time of 13.64 in the 100M, Lee had a very successful second year on the SUA track team...earned SUA Scholar Athlete honors at the annual athletics banquet.
2012-2013 Season
Nick ran the 60M race during SUA's indoor season and focused on the 100M in his first outdoor season as a Lion...off the track, Lee was a member of the school's History Department.
High School
A 2013 graduate from SMK Seafield, Subang Jaya...also played soccer and badminton during high school...was a member of the Dodgeball team and the Fire Brigade.
Personal
Born in Kuala Lumpur...moved to Suban Jaya, Selangor...parents Richard Lee and Say Cheow Tay...one sibling, sister Min-Rui Lee, who is currently in her first year at SUA...also considered attending London School of Economics, University of Oxford, University of Warwick, University of Nottingham, Durham University and University of Melbourne before deciding to attend Soka University and run for the Lions...concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences... also speaks Spanish, Malay, Mandarain, Cantonese and Hokkien.
