Curtis Robinson

Curtis Robinson joined Soka University of America in the fall of 2023.

Before taking on golf, Curtis graduated from Pomona High School and continued his education and athletic career at Chapman University. Robinson was a member of the football team and earned his position as the starting quarterback from 1994-1996. From there, Robinson carried his work ethic and drive from the football field onto the golf course.

Robinson has an abundance of coaching experience having spent the last 20+ years coaching golf. Robinson has also served as the club professional at Irvine’s Rancho San Joaquin Golf Club and Strawberry Farms Golf Club.

In January 2016, Robinson was named the head coach of the boy’s golf team at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. In May 2016, Robinson secured a CIF Southern Section title with his team. All five of his athletes posted scores in the 70s and as a team posted a 365 in the Southern Section Western regional at Whispering Lakes Golf Course in Ontario, Calif. After a successful season, Robinson was named the Boy’s Golf High School Coach of the Year in 2016.

Robinson earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chapman University.
