2022-2023 Season
Li competed at the Bruin Invitational in the 50 Free and 200 Free setting season best in both events with times of 22.51 and 1:54.44…also competed at the 2023 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference in the 100 Free and 100 Breast and set two more season best with times of 50.06 and 1:04.94…Li also competed in the Slug Shootout 2022 Day 1 in the 500 Free and the 100 Fly, finishing with a college best of 5:24.73 in the 500 Free and 57.90 in the 100 Fly…also competed in Day 2 of the Slug Shootout 2022 in the 200 IM with a time 2:13.23…competed in the 2022 PCSC Pentathlon in the 50 Back, 50 Breast, 50 Fly, and 100 IM, setting season best times in each with a 28.26 in the 50 Back, 29.67 in the 50 Breast, 25.26 in the 50 Fly, and 59.34 in the 100 IM…also…competed in the 100 Back at SOKA vs Lake Forest College in the 100 back, finishing with a time of 1:00.05…served as a member of the Kendo Club…participated in study abroad in Tokyo, Japan.

Competed in the ACU vs Soka vs Westcliff meet in the 500 Free, setting a college best of 5:26.98…also competed in the 2021 Bulldog Pentathlon in the 100 Back, 100 Breast, and 100 IM; in the 100 Back, Li set a college best time of 1:00.97…he set two more college best swims with a time of 1:06.49 in the 100 Breast and in the 100 IM with a time of 58.81… Li also competed in The 2021 Wyatt Balman Invitational in the 50 Free and 100 Fly and set another two college best swims of 22.65 and 57.01, respectively… he also competed at the 2021 Logger Invite in the 100 Free and 200 Breast; in the 100 Free, Li set a college best time of 49.67; in the 200 Breast, Li produced another college best swim with a time of 2:24.83…competed in the 200 Free at the 2022 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Meet, setting a college best swim with a time of 1:52.86…Li (200; 22.26, 400; 48.92) also set two school records with Anthony Stewart, Zachary Holt, and Josh Beam in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays, swimming the fourth and final leg during both races.… served as a member of the Esports Club…held a job as a part-time coach off campus.

Attended and graduated from Centennial Secondary School…competed one year on varsity swimming for the Centaurs.

Born and raised in Coquitlam, B.C. Canada…parents Franklin Li and Bin Gu; Li’s father competed in swimming and played volleyball in college…one sibling; May who also competed in swimming in college…competed for the Hyack Swim Club…considered attending NYU before committing to Soka University of America…concentrating in Environmental Sciences and studying Japanese at SUA…Li is fluent in Chinese and has learned to speak French and Spanish.
