2022-2023 Season
Souza opened the season at the 2023 OCC Indoor/Outdoor Meet competing in the 3000m and finishing with a season best of 9:28.65…following this, he competed in the mile event at the Sunshine Indoor Open & Combined Events (4:47.46) and the 2023 Soka Indoor Qualifier, where he set a season best in the event with a time of 4:34.80…he then competed at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic in the 5000m event, finishing with a time of 15:50.23…Souza also competed at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet in the 1500m (4:12.94) and in the 800m where he set another season best with a time of 2:03.37…he also competed in the Team 4 Titus and Ely Invitational in the 1500m (4:07.44) and the 4x800m (8:33.49)…at the Whittier Twilight Souza competed in the 5000m and finished with a time of 15:31.27…Souza completed at the Cal State LA Twilight meet in the 1500m and finished with a time of 4:12.31…following this, he then competed at the CalPac Championships 2023 in the 4x800m (8:15.91), the 5000m (15:46.71), and the 1500m where he set a season best with a time of 4:02.62…Souza closed out the season at the Oxy Invitational in the 5000m, setting another season best with a time of 15:19.22.
2021-2022 Season
Souza competed in the Biola Invitational, where he set a personal college best in the 8k with a time of 28:59.2…also participated in the SD Mesa XC Invite College Open where he competed in the 4M and set another college best time of 22:37.8...served as a member of the Surf Club…member of the Newspaper…held a job at Home Depot.

Graduated from Boise High School…dual sport athlete playing basketball and competing in Track and Field for four years on varsity for the Braves…4x Academic Award…2x Academic State Champions…served as the Editor of the school newspaper…volunteered for Reclaim Idaho…a member of the Idaho Salmon Council.

Born in Arcata, California, grew up in Eureka, California before moving to McKinleyville, California at the age of 10, then he moved to Holetown, Barbados at the 12, then moving back to McKinleyville, California at 13, and then moving to Boise, Idaho at the age of 14…parents Tasha Souza and Paul Hoeri; father, Paul, played basketball at Ripon College…siblings; Alina and Avery…played soccer for FC Boise…won the 3V Race at Bob Firman Invitational in 2018…also considered attending Adelphi University, American University, and Lewis & Clark University before committing to SUA…concentrating in International Studies and studying Spanish at Soka University of America…hobbies include surfing, soccer, and drawing.
