Sobande opened her college career at the 2023 OCC Meet, competing in the 60m and 200m events, and finishing with times of 8.80 in the 60m and 29.01 in the 200m…also competed in the 60 and 200 events at the Sunshine Indoor Open and Combined Events and finishing with a time of 8.48 in the 60m and 28.51 in the 200m… Sobande also competed at the 2023 Soka Indoor Qualifier, where she set two personal bests in the 60m (8.39) and 200m (28.00)…at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet, Sobande competed in the 100m (13.35) and the 200m (27.78)…she competed at the Whittier Twilight in the 100m and the 200m, finishing with times of 13.58 and 28.50…Sobande closed the 2022-2023 season at the 2023 CalPac Championships in the 100m and 200m (28.23), setting a personal best of 13.31 in 100m… served as a member of the Model United Nations…held a job of the Peace Ambassador Tour Guide.

Born in Dublin, Ireland and raised in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to Dublin, California at the age of 15…parents Adewale and Kemi Sobande…three siblings; two older sisters and one older brother…also considered attending UC Irvine and Willamette University before committing to Soka University of America…concentrating in Life Sciences and studying Japanese at SUA…hobbies include reading and learning to play the piano.
