2016-2017 Season
Chia made an immediate impact on both the Soka cross country squad and the track and field team in his first year... produced a season best 8k time at the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Challenge on Oct.15 with a time of 36:02.8... posted a 5:33.92 indoor track season best time in the mile at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational on March 18, and a season best outdoor track season 1500M run with a time of 4:49.54 on his home track at the Cal Pac Invitational on April 22.

Graduated from Bellevue High School...ran three years of cross country for the Wolverines...was a member of the first-year senate and History committee.

Born in Singapore...moved to Bellevue, Washington when he was 12 years old...parents Teck Khoon Chia and Chun Peng Teoh...two siblings; younger brothers, Keith and Ian...also considered attending University San Diego, Western Washington University, and the University of Oregon prior to selecting Soka University...studying Chinese and concentrating in International Studies while at SUA... speaks Japanese.
