2022-2023 Season
Competed at the 2023 OCC Indoor/Outdoor Meet, the Sunshine Indoor Open & Combined Events, 2023 Soka Indoor Qualifier, the Occidental Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic, the Ross and Sharon Irwin meet, the Team 4 Titus and Ely Invitational, the Whittier Twilight and the Cal State LA Twilight, the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational, the CalPac Championships 2023, the Steve Scott Invitational and the Oxy Invitational, and the APU Franson Last Chance… at the 2023 Soka Indoor Qualifier, Newman set two college bests in the 60m (7.36) and the 400m (50.62)…he also set another college best in the 400H at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational with a time of 54.46…Newman also set another college best at the CalPac Championships 2023 in the 200m with a time of 22.45.
2021-2022 Season
Competed in the Soka Indoor Qualifier, 2022 Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic, 2022 Team 4 Titus and Ely Invitational,  2022 Pomona-Pitzer T&F Invite, Cal State LA Twilight, California Pacific Conference Championships, and the 2022 Oxy Invitational…at the Soka Indoor Qualifier, Newman set a college best in the 600m with a time of 1:26.65…also set a college best of 51.96 in the 400m at the 2022 Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic…Newman also set two more personal college bests in both the 200m and the 400H with times of 22.89 seconds and 58.14 seconds, respectively.

Graduated from Glebe Collegiate Institute…competed four years on varsity Track and Field for the Gryphons, as well as competing for the cross country and soccer team…received Provincial Cross Country Silver in his first- year and Provincial Cross Country Gold junior year… 2x JV and 1x Varsity Soccer Captain…Provincial Track and Field Silver…member of Honor Society…earned Valedictorian…received the Principals Award for Leadership…served as the Student Council Co-President…coached youth Track and Field…served as tutor…volunteered with the Special Olympics.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario Canada…parents; Kazuko and Bill Newman…one sibling; Miki Newman…played for the West Ottawa Soccer Club and competed for the Ottawa Lions Track and Field Club…concentrating in Social and Behavioral Sciences and studying Japanese at SUA…hobbies include photography.
