Coach Andrew (Drew) Crowell brings 15 years of club and college coaching experience to the Soka Lions. Drew started his coaching career while swimming for Olympic coach Dave Salo at Orange Coast College. Drew's first coaching job was with the Irvine Novaquatics, where he discovered his passion for coaching.
Crowell has continuously work with Nova since 2004, working with every level from the beginning level 8-and-unders to the senior elite groups.
Drew joined the Lions in 2008 as a part time assistant, and then in 2010 became the full time assistant coach at SUA. In his coaching career, Crowell has been an Assistant Coach for the Orange Coast College men’s and women’s Jr. College championship teams, coached a winning Southern California Swimming Festival team, coached finalists at the NAIA National Championships, worked at a USA Swimming zoned select camp, and has had many more victories along the way.
Crowell earned his Bachelor of Arts in History in 2008 from California State University, Fullerton.
When not on the pool deck, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife Larissa and daughter Paisley.
