ALISO VIEJO, CA- The Soka University Lady Lions defeated the Simpson University Red Hawks 5-0 in their Cal Pac Conference Breast Cancer Awareness match on Saturday afternoon.

Soka's squad took the field donning pink socks in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, along with decorating the stadium with pink Soka Athletics signs, and encouraging their fans to #thinkpink by wearing pink to the game to show support.

Soka opened the flood gates in the 14^th minute after Sydney Marin served a deep ball to Jordan Pritzl. Pritzl collected the ball, took a touch to her right, and buried her shot over the Red Hawks' goal keeper Alison Harvey's head.

Pritzl struck again six minutes later, this time with the assist credited to Natalia Gilbert. Pritzl slotted her shot low, cross-keeper, for the two-goal advantage.

In the 65^th minute, the Lady Lions netted their third goal, which stemmed from Marin's driven service to the left corner finding Pritzl on the touchline. Pritzl served her cross back post, and Gilbert guided her shot with the instep of her right boot into the goal.

With two minutes ticking down on the clock, Renee Parado intercepted a clearance from Simpson's back line. She saw her opportunity, and smashed her shot first-time over Harvey's head for the 4-0 lead.

Soka's fifth and final goal evolved off of threaded through ball from Camryn Finnell in the 84^th minute. Finnell's pass broke the seams of the Simpson's defense, and found Gilbert in stride. Gilbert finished her shot low, and into the back post, for the 5-0 victory over the Red Hawks.

Soka will return to action against the UC Merced Bobcats on Friday Nov. 2, 2018, in their final home match of the season where they will honor their six graduating seniors Chloe Ballard, Rhea Hartwell, Sydney Marin, Kiana Dinsmore, Natalia Gilbert, and Alicia Davis. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and Soka's senior day celebrations will begin after the conclusion of the men's soccer game.
