ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The Lions put up a hard-fought performance in the Cal Pac Championship semifinal match against Westcliff University but came up just short, losing 1-0 to the Warriors.

Westcliff applied early pressure on the Lions defense, but keeper Mackenzie Stenstrom made five saves, four of them coming within a 10-second window. Micaela Villalobos kept the Warriors out of the net, making two critical blocks and clearing the ball.

It was a scoreless game through 70 minutes of action before Westcliff found a way through Soka's defense to land one in the net and take the lead. Soka was down 1-0 with 20 minutes left to play but continued to fight and created chances to level the game.

The Lions posted four shots with three on frame while the Warriors took 19 shots with 13 on frame. Stenstrom finished the match making 12 saves. Arlene Yepez, Jeanna Ceja, and Mallorie Barteau all took a shot for the Lions.
 
The Lions conclude their season with a 9-5-1 overall record and a 4-2-1 conference record.
