Curtis Robinson Named Head Golf Coach

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Soka University of America Director of Athletics, Mike Moore, has announced the hiring of Curtis Robinson as the head coach of the men's and women's golf programs.

"I am excited to welcome Curtis to our Soka community," said Moore. "His head coaching experience, coupled with his administrative background and commitment to student-athlete success, make him a great fit for Soka Athletics. I look forward to working together with Curtis to build successful golf programs in the future."

Robinson joined Soka as an assistant coach in the fall of 2023, helping develop the men's program and aiding in the continued improvement of the women's program.

Prior to joining Soka, Robinson was the head coach of the boy's golf team at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. In May 2016, Robinson secured a CIF Southern Section title with his team. All five of his athletes posted scores in the 70s and as a team posted a 365 in the Southern Section Western regional at Whispering Lakes Golf Course in Ontario, Calif. After a successful season, Robinson was named the Boy's Golf High School Coach of the Year in 2016.

"I am excited and grateful to be the Head Golf Coach at Soka," said Robinson. "It's an honor to join a great group of head coaches, assistant coaches, Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and support staff. I look forward to guiding our student athletes to achieve their highest level of academic success, to become true global citizens, and to be successful on the golf course."
