Soka Battles to 1-1 Draw against Hope International

IRVINE, Calif. – Soka University men's soccer battled to a 1–1 draw against Hope International on Thursday evening in GSAC play. The Lions are now 4-8-2 overall and 4-6-1 in conference.
 
Hope International opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Erik Conriquez converted on a finish assisted by Diego Albanez. The Lions pressed for an equalizer through much of the match, earning multiple chances and corners in the second half.
 
Their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when Kohtaro Goto scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Rudy Garcia, leveling the match at one apiece.
 
Soka recorded 11 total shots, including four on frame, while goalkeeper Eric Aparicio made four saves to keep the Lions within reach. Both sides played with high intensity throughout, with Soka generating most of its attacking momentum late.
