GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Soka University Lions started their inaugural season on the road with three matches lined up in Arizona. Thursday saw the Lions face off against OUAZ in Surprise, followed by a match against Park University Gilbert in Mesa, and finally rounding out the trip on the west end of the valley in Glendale against Arizona Christian. The Lions finished the trip 0-3 with Cal Pac play set to start on March 1st.
 
Kenichi Price led the Lions with a total of 10 kills and 12 points in three matches. Price picked up the first earned point for the Lions with a kill against OUAZ. Aiden Chen led the Lions on the serve with three service aces on the trip. Daniel Yoshimura and Price earned two service aces apiece.

Yoshimura also played an important role in directing the Lions offense tallying 12 assists while Price finished with seven assists. Takayuki led the back row with nine digs while Gabriel Boldizsar notched eight digs and two solo blocks through the three matches.
 
The Lions will look to improve upon their recent matches with a scrimmage at home against East Los Angeles College on Wednesday, February 12th at 6 p.m.
