SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Soka University competed at The Master's Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Lions fielded full men's and women's squads, taking 18th in the women's 6K and 20th in the men's 8K.
In the women's race,
Yuko Hashimoto led the Lions with a time of 26:12.80, placing 101st overall. She was followed by
Sara Siegler (27:54.70),
Jasmine Lorenzo (28:15.60),
Charlize Bolton (29:24.70), and
Chie Shishidou (31:51.00). The group combined for 571 points, with a total team time of 2:23:38.80 and an average of 28:43.76.
On the men's side,
Eiichi Takemura was the top finisher for Soka, crossing in 30:04.30 for 120th place. He was followed by
Lev Nakamura (31:29.20),
Daiki Katsukawa (33:08.80),
Gabriel Orozco (40:24.70), and
Lenny Washiya (41:52.31). The men scored 635 points, finishing with a total time of 2:56:59.30 and an average of 35:23.86.
