ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — The Soka University men's volleyball team hosted The Master's University on Tuesday evening, falling in straight sets 25–15, 25–14, 25–16. The Lions are now 1-16 overall and 0-12 in GSAC play.
Despite the final score, Soka showed fight throughout the match. The Lions traded points early in the opening set, creating four tie scores and a lead change before the visitors pulled away. The competitiveness in those early exchanges reflected a team that continues to battle regardless of the circumstances.
Kamohoalii Chan was the offensive engine for Soka, leading the team with seven kills on the night.
Christian Obergfell was equally impactful, adding five kills while also anchoring the back row with a team-high seven digs and contributing a solo block.
Isaac Jeremia chipped in four kills, and
Corban Tidwell added three more as the Lions spread their offensive production across multiple contributors.
Jacob Marquez once again steadied the Lions from the setter position, finishing with 14 assists while also notching a service ace.
Andres Chavez added a service ace as well, and Chan contributed four digs to round out a solid all-around performance.
