ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Bijou Bolton scored in the 90th minute to lift the Soka University women's soccer team to a 2–2 draw with Life Pacific on Saturday at Soka University, in the Lions' second Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) match of the season.
Soka needed less than three minutes to get on the board, as Sabrina Benjamin opened the scoring in the 3rd minute for a 1–0 lead. Life Pacific answered in the 16th minute when Scarlett Rivera converted an assist from Kayley Buchanan, and the visitors took a 2–1 lead in the 58th minute on a goal from Stevie Spencer, assisted by Mayllery Rodriguez.
The Lions pressed for the equalizer over the final half hour and found it with 29 seconds left in regulation, when Bolton finished off a feed from Anahi Aranda to make it 2–2.
Soka controlled the run of play throughout, out-shooting Life Pacific 10–4 and holding a 5–3 edge in shots on goal. The Lions also dominated the corner kick count, 9–2, including seven in the second half, with Benjamin taking eight of Soka's nine corners on the day. Goalkeeper Jazlynn Camacho made one save for Soka, while Life Pacific's Natalie Retama finished with three.
