2018-2019 Season
Started and played in and started in 7 matches for the Lions before suffering a season ending injury... in his 7 games he led the team scoring 10 goals and assisting in 6 for 26 points... De Groot now holds the record for top goal scorer in Soka University history with a total of 33 goals and 87 points going into his senior season... was named Cal Pac Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10, 2018... received NAIA Daktronic Scholar Athlete and Soka University Scholar Athlete honors... member of the Soka Strategic Investment Club... studied abroad in Shanghai, China for the Spring 2019 semester.  

2017-2018 Season
Started and played in 15 matches for the Lions and scored 14 goals in his 15 games... earned Second Team All Cal Pac Conference honors... Led the Cal Pac Conference in assists (9) and in shots (64)...De Groot ranked 6th in NAIA Division I for points per game (2.470)... 13th in NAIA Division I in assists per game (.600)... 15th in NAIA Division I for goals per game (0.930)... 18th in NAIA Division I for shots per game (4.270)...22nd in NAIA Division I for shots on goal per game (2.130)... 27th in NAIA Division I in total points (37)... 30th in NAIA Division I in total assists (9) and 34th in NAIA Division I in total goals (14).  

2016-2017 Season
Played in all 17 matches for the Lions...started 14...scored 9 goals and had 6 assists on the season earning 24 points... scored his first career goal in his first career game against Providence Christian College on Aug. 30... dominant in midfield for the Lions... his creativity with the ball at his feet, and his vision to find seams between the opposition played a vital role in helping his team reach the Cal Pac Conference Tournament for the first time in program history...took 40 shots, with 20 of them finding frame... took a season high 6 shots against San Diego Christian University on Sept.7... scored multiple goals in four different matches (Antelope Valley, Providence Christian, Sierra Nevada College, and again against Providence Christian) ... earned Cal Pac All Conference Honorable Mention honors ... named Cal Pac Conference Offensive Player of the week recognition fon Sept. 5...earned Soka University Lion of the Week honors on Sept.19.

High School
Graduated from River Valley High School...played varsity soccer for two years and one year of volleyball for the Falcons... received the Academic Award X8, the Principal Award and earned League MVP for soccer...also a member of Mecha.

Born in Den Bosch, Netherlands...lived in Holland for nine years...moved to Spain for five years...moved to Adelaide, Australia for two years...moved to Yuba, California for two years...parents Erik De Groot and Jeannette Lima... two siblings; younger sister Emelyn and younger brother Dani who both play soccer in high school...played club soccer for Davis Legacy, previously teams were Adelaide City (Australia), Mairena Del Aljarafe (Spain) and Jan Van Arckel (Holland)... went to the finals in the Nomad Tournament and earned second place in the Northern California Premier League with Davis Legacy...also considered attending UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara prior to committing to Soka University...concentrating in International Studies...studying Chinese while at SUA...also speaks Spanish and Dutch.
