Graduated from Diamond Bar High School...played two years of varsity soccer for the Brahmas... also was a member of the track team where Maddex competed in the discus...earned All-Conference Academic First Team honors in the 2012 and 2013.

Born in Diamond Bar, California...parents Greg Maddex and Karen Keifer...three siblings; Shannon who plays soccer for William Pearce University, Erin and Keifer...played club soccer for the Celtic Football Club...Soka University was his top college of choice...concentrating in Environmental Studies...studying Spanish... studied abroad in Costa Rica during the 2015-2016 academic school year.
