Entering 2015
The Lions will be looking to Cruz for his tenacity defensively in the middle of the pitch... with his simplicity on the ball and ability to get stuck in on tackles and win the ball in the air, Edgar will be a force in the midfield.

2014 Season
Cruz started in fourteen matches for the Lions and played in all eighteen of their games... Edgar had two assists against Cal Tech and La Sierra University… Took seven shots on the season...Cruz studied abroad in Aix-en Provence, France during the Spring 2015 semester... and was on the Dean's List both semesters.

2013 Season
Edgar started in fifteen of seventeen matches for the Lions making appearances in all their games...took eighteen shots on the season… Season high of six shots against fellow Cal Pac Conference members, Pacific Union... Edgar also joined the track team and ran the 800m for the Lions.  

2012 Season 
Cruz played in all sixteen games for the Lions starting fourteen... he had three goals and four assists on the season...scoring a career high of two goals against Cal Tech on Sept. 2,  and had two assists that same match... he took a total of twenty-six shots during the Lions 2012 campaign. 

High School
A 2012 graduate from Segerstrom High School...ran cross country for three seasons, played soccer for all four years as well as ran track for the Jaguars... he was Segerstom High School's Track & Field Rookie of the Year in 2009, the 2011 Track Coaches Award recipient and the Track Mid-Distance Runner Most Valuable in 2012.

Personal
Born in Santa Ana, California...parents Julio and Maria Cruz...two siblings; one older sister, Liz, and one younger sister, Karen, who runs track at Orange Coast College...also considered attending UC Irvine prior to deciding to attend Soka...Concentration in International Studies...also speaks Spanish and French.
