2019-2020 Season
Played in 15 matches for the Lions... made a total of 59 saves on the season with a .711 saves percentage... made a season high 13 saves against Benedictine-Mesa on Oct. 6... named one of Soka Athletics' September Lions of the Month... served as the Fall 2019 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President before leaving to study abroad in the Spring 2020 semester... also served at the  Soka University Cal Pac Student Athlete Council Representative. 

2018-2019 Season
Appeared in 14 matches for the Lions... made a total of 79 saves throughout the season... posted a season high of 13 saves against Benedictine-Mesa University... for his second season as a Lion Barainca was one of three strong captains for the men's team... at the end of the season Barainca was also awarded with All-Cal Pac Conference honorable mention honors... also served as the men's soccer Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative. 

2017-2018 Season
Appeared in all 18 matches for the Lions... made an immediate impact on the program during his first season a both a goal keeper and a midfielder... assisted in 3 goals and took 6 shots... while in goal Barainca played 225:00 and made 14 saves...  was the men's soccer Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.

High School
Graduated from Earl Wooster High School...three year varsity letter winner for the Colts... two year varsity ski team member...earned the Middle Years Program Certificate, Most Improved Ski Team Member award, two-time Most Improved Soccer Player award, two-time Most Valuable Soccer Player award winner, All Conference Honorable Mention team member, First Team All Conference, and Second Team All State honors...received his Advanced Diploma and the AP Scholars award... member of the Link Crew mentoring club and We the People Constitutional Debate team. 

Personal
Born in Carson City, Nevada... moved to Reno, Nevada at the age of 3...parents Nick and Marly...three sisters; Jane, Nicole, and Mackenzie...played club soccer for the Omega Select Football Academy and the Nova Alliance Football Club... won the National Club West Regionals... also considered attending Mid-American Nazarene and Coker College prior ot committing to the Soka Lions...plans to concentrate his studies in Behavioral and Social Sciences and Spanish...outside of soccer, he enjoys watching the news and learning as much as possible.
