Coach Patrick Villanueva attended El Camino High School where he played 4 years varsity as a libero and setter. After graduating from El Camino, he came back to be the head coach for the freshman team and assist on varsity.
After a year at El Camino, he moved to Vista Murrieta High School (2011-2016) serving as an assistant coach for JV and varsity before becoming the head coach of the junior varsity team. While at Vista Murrieta, the Broncos were league champions. He has also coached at Heritage High School for the boy's team from 2010-2017. He was also simultaneously an assistant coach for the Mt San Jacinto College Women's Volleyball program.
In 2016-2018 Coach Patrick coached and was a teacher at Rancho Christian High school. He coached the Girls and started the Boys Program.
In 2018-2019 Coach Patrick coached in Chula Vista at Castle Park High School. He took over the Head Varsity Program. During his time there he took the team to the First Round of CIF, the program hasn’t been in CIF in 5 years. During this time as well, he took over the Boys Program at Lincoln High School as the Head Varsity Coach.
Coach Patrick has worked with club teams since 2006 when he joined Starlings Volleyball Club in Oceanside. He has coached with Cross Point since 2010 and is now the director of the club.
In 2019, he joined the Men’s Volleyball Program at Miramar Community College and coached at Murrieta Mesa High School for 4 years. He coached during the COVID season and took the boys to CIF Quarter Finals for the first time in program history and every year after always went to CIF.
In 2021-2023 Coach Patrick was the Women's Assistant Coach for Chaffey College.
