Soka University

Entering 2015
Ali looks to help lead the Lady Lions as they have their largest roster in program history... looking to best her most wins in a single season record and the most shutouts in a single season (4)...Will be holding the position of Spirit Chair in the Soka Student Union (SSU).  

2014 Season
Ali started in the nets for all seventeen of the Lion’ matches... made eighty-four saves giving her a 1.92 goals against average (twenty-nine goals against)...Received the Cal Pac All-Conference Academic Award... earned Cal Pac Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 8...studied a semester abroad in Ecuador during the spring of 2015... Member of the SUA Soul wings and Changemakers program...

2013 Season
Houghton started in all eighteen matches for Soka... Ali made eighty-nine saves giving her a 1.65 goals against average only taking thirty goals against... Ali led her team to five wins with three of those wins being shutouts... President of Soul Wings...member of the African Dance Club. 

2012 Season
In Ali's first year with the Lady Lions she was asked to play a different role than what she was used to as a goal keeper... Houghton filled the role of defensive center midfielder for Soka playing in all sixteen of the Lions games and starting in fifteen... she took eight shots, with five of those shots being on frame giving her a .625 SOG/SH percentage...member of Soul wings...awarded at the SUA athletics banquet with the Athletic Directors Award for her hard work, positive attitude and willingness to help others throughout the year. 

High School
Attended Lehi High School... was a four-year varsity starter... 4A All-State Goalkeeper...Two-time member of the All-Star High School team...Also a member of the freshman Girls Basketball squad and JV Cross Country team... Houghton was actively involved in the Lehi Student Council, the Debate team and the Model UN.  

Personal
Born in Orem, Utah... moved to Lehi, Utah...parents Brett and Chris ...has five siblings; three sisters, Brittany (starting goal keeper for the Women's Soccer program at the College of Idaho), Adi and Caitlin, and two brothers, Clarence and Cooper...while at SUA her academic concentration is in Social and Behavioral Sciences...speaks Spanish...played club soccer for the Utah Avalanche.
