PASADENA, CA- The Soka University Lady Lions dropped their road match to the Providence Christian College Sea Beggars 3-1 on Thursday night at Maranatha High School's Soccer Stadium.
The Sea Beggars were the first to get on the scoreboard 14 minutes into the match, after Providence Christian's Sarah Taghaboni dribbled herself free at the top of the box. She took her half-chance shot, and found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead in the first half.
Soka's
Natalia Gilbert netted the equalizer 47 seconds into the second half, after she received a pass from
Rhea Hartwell. Gilbert converted her chance for the Lady Lions' lone goal of the game, and her sixth goal of the season.
The Sea Beggars' Mindy Cortes tallied the game-winning goal less than ten minutes later, and then netted and insurance goal in the 73
rd minute bringing the final score to 3-1.
The Lady Lions (5-7, 3-4) will remain on the road when they travel to University of Antelope Valley on Thursday, Oct.25, 2018. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
