ALISO VIEJO, CA- The Lady Lions defeated the Cyclones of Mills College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Lion's Den Soccer Stadium.
Soka scored their first goal 11 minutes into the match after
Kaitlyn Haibel hit a deep service to
Jordan Pritzl inside of the 18-yard box. Prtizl collected the ball out of the air, finished her shot low, and into the left corner past Mills College's goalkeeper Mikaela Cuevas for the early 1-0 lead. Â
Seventeen minutes later, Pritzl struck again after she converted her chance from a rebound off of the crossbar. Soka's
Natalia Gilbert hit a shot from the right corner of the box, which ricocheted off the crossbar to Prtizl. Prtizl collected the ball out of the air, took a touch to her right, and finished her shot high into the near post giving Soka the two goal advantage.
In the 65
th minute, the Lady Lions were awarded a set piece on the touch line. Â Prtizl's driven service mid-goal connected with Gilbert. Gilbert left her feet, and flicked her shot into the goal, bringing the final score to 3-0.
Soka will hit the road for the first time this season when they open up California Pacific Conference play against California Maritime Academy in Vallejo, CA. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
