INCLINE VILLAGE, NV- Natalia Gilbert's last minute goal in the second overtime period lifted the Lady Lions past the Sierra Nevada College Eagles Saturday afternoon giving the Lady Lions their second straight Cal Pac Conference victory.
Sierra Nevada was the first to strike 44 minutes into the match, after Kathia Mendoza connected with Jade Aquilar, who converted her chance before the end of the first half.
Soka's Gilbert found the equalizer in the 69
th minute, and the two sides remained at a stalemate after 90 minutes of play.
It wasn't until the 103:58 mark in the second overtime period that Gilbert struck again for the golden goal, giving Soka to the 2-1 victory.
This win brings the Lady Lions overall record to 4-3, and 2-0 in Cal Pac Conference play.
Up next, Soka will return home to face No.11 Embry Riddle Aeronautical University on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
