ALISO VIEJO, CA- The Soka Lions fell to the Pacific Union College Pioneers 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Lions' Den Soccer Stadium.
The Pioneers found the back of the net early, converting their chance in the 13
th minute of the game. They then scored the insurance goal in the 75
th minute of play.

Samantha Barrera took two shots on the day, and
Mallorie Barteua had one look on goal. Still, despite solid attacking efforts from the Lions, they were unable to convert their chances.
Pacific Union outshot the Lions 14-13, and the Pioneers found frame four times while the Lions put three of their shots on target.
"We definitely had great build-ups and chances in the box today," said Head Coach
Wendy Espejel. "And the scoreline doesn't always represent the opportunities of the match. We need to keep a positive mindset and continue producing similar opportunities moving forward." Â
Next, the Lions will travel to Merced, CA, to face the UC Merced Bobcats. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
