LANCASTER, CA- The Soka Lions fell to the University of Antelope Valley Pioneers 4-0 on Saturday morning, bringing their overall record to 0-5-2 and 0-1-1.

The Pioneers scored all four goals in the first 47 minutes of play, scoring in the 15^th, 30^th, 44^th, and 47^th minutes of the match.

Soka outshot the University Antelope Valley, taking 24 shots on the day and finding frame 15 times. Sasha Brafman led the Lions taking five shots, and Cienna Irwin and Kamry Aragon, along with several other Lions, also created scoring opportunities but were unable to capitalize on their chances.

"We are heading home a bit frustrated after today's result," said Head Coach Wendy Espejel. "We started slow in the first half and went down, which made it tough for us to recover in the second half. We had great efforts and build-ups but ultimately could not get on the scoreboard." 

Next, the Lions will return home to face (19)Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Kickoff is set for 5:30 pm.
