ALISO VIEJO, CA- The Soka University Lions were unable to get past the (18) Eagles of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Thursday night.
The Eagles tallied six goals on the night, converting their first chance in the 17
th minute, followed by goals in the 33
rd, 50
th, 54
th, 73
rd, and 79
th minutes of play.
The Lions were outshot 23-5, and Soka's
Abby Stallworth made nine saves on the day.  Â
Soka's
Kamry Aragon led the Lions with two shots on frame, while
Roxana Ortiz,
Araceli Soto-Garcia, and
Katie Jones each took one shot on the day.
"We always knew Embry-Riddle was going to be tough," said Head Coach
Wendy Espejel. "Even more so as we are currently going through a rough patch with a few key players out with injuries. Regardless, we are using this adversity to grow both individually and as a team."
The Lions now look ahead to their next match on Saturday, September 24, 2022, when they travel to Providence Christian College. Kickoff is set for 2 pm.
