SALEM, OR- The Soka University Lions fell to the Warriors of Corban University 2-0 on Sunday evening, bringing their overall record to 0-4-1.
The Warriors tallied two first-half goals to give Corban University their third straight win of the season. The Warriors' first goal came in the 20
th minute of play, while their second goal was scored at the 44:11-minute mark.
Sasha Brafman led the Lions with two shots, with one finding frame. Soka's
Abby Hiatt and
Samantha Barrera each took one shot on the day.
"It was a tough weekend for us," said Head Coach
Wendy Espejel. "We battled through both games and were pushed physically and mentally. We had a strong second half tonight and are working towards bringing that same energy and momentum from the moment we step on the field. The players are learning to trust each other and have a lot to build on as we move into conference play next game."Â
Next, Soka remains on the road for their third straight road game. The Lions will open up California Pacific Conference play in Redding, CA, when they face the Simpson University Red Hawks on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m..
