Lions Fall to Eagles, 3-0

PRESCOTT, AZ- The Soka Lions fell to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Prescott, Arizona.

The Lions held the Eagles scoreless until the final minutes of the first half, when the Eagles striker was able to put their shot high and into the back post to go up 1-0.

The Eagles were able to convert two more of their chances during the second half of play, bringing the final score to 3-0.

The Lions' Kamry Aragon and Ashley Fujimori each had shots, while Nicole Salazar, Cienna Irwin, Micaela Villalobos, and Taylor Hampton put in solid defensive efforts on the day.

"The team worked really hard the entire game," said Head Coach Wendy Espejel. "It took us a bit of time to adjust to the game early, but we did see good moments in the game, and we looked dangerous at times. That is what we are looking to do consistently. So very proud of the team for their efforts today."

Next, the Lions will remain on the road and travel to Carlsbad, California, to take on the University of Saint Katherine Firebirds on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
