Box Score SURPRISE, Ariz. – Soka University women's soccer opened their road trip with a 1-0 win over Ottawa University-Arizona. The Lions improve to 6-2 in GSAC play and 7-2-3 overall.
Sabrina Benjamin scored the match's only goal in the 28th minute, on an assist from
Samantha Barrera and
Mallorie Barteau. The connection capped a strong opening half for Soka, which generated 13 shots and maintained steady possession.
The Lions continued to press through the second half, creating opportunities forcing the OUAZ goalkeeper into multiple saves.
Carly Becerra and
Arlene Yepez led a balanced attack, while goalkeeper
Mackinzie Stenstrom anchored the defense with two saves to secure the clean sheet.
Soka outshot OUAZ 20–7, including 10 shots on goal, and earned six corner kicks to the visitors' three, reflecting the Lions' consistent pressure and control throughout the match.

Wendy Espejel. "They showed so much resiliency during the game, and did a fantastic job adjusting throughout the game. All players coming into the game for us added a layer of energy and intensity that secured the game."
