ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Soka University hosted the 2026 Triple Distance Invitational on January 10. The Lions finished third on the men's side with 60 points and fifth on the women's side in a field that included Biola, The Master's, Azusa Pacific, and Concordia Irvine. 

Men's Highlights 

• Feliks Czarnecki placed 3rd in the 50 Freestyle (22.59) and 3rd in the 100 Freestyle (49.34). He also finished 6th in the 200 Freestyle (1:53.57), contributing key points for Soka. 

• Jaeger Frazier swam 23.53 in the 50 Free, 50.62 in the 100 Free, and placed 4th in the 200 Freestyle (1:52.02). 

• Keegan Nichols recorded 24.57 in the 50 Butterfly, 54.99 in the 100 Butterfly, and finished 4th in the 200 Butterfly (2:07.30). 

• Alexander Skrzypek competed in the backstroke events, swimming 26.47 in the 50 Back, 58.09 in the 100 Back, and 2:08.54 in the 200 Back. 

• Gabo Orozco and Aakash Baral added swims in freestyle events, including the 50 and 100 Freestyle. 

Women's Highlights 

• Nicole Skrzypek led the women with a 26.30 in the 50 Freestyle and 59.10 in the 100 Freestyle, placing 13th in the 100 Free. 

• Beatriz Ulian swam 27.88 in the 50 Free, 1:00.28 in the 100 Free, and 2:17.38 in the 200 Free. 

• Kayla Robertson recorded 34.86 in the 50 Free, 1:16.44 in the 100 Free, and 2:49.57 in the 200 Free. 

• Rubi Barraza Hernandez, Lulu Sobel, and Kriti Ghimire contributed additional freestyle swims for Soka. 

• Hana Imamura and Mizuki Yano competed in breaststroke events, including the 50 and 100 Breaststroke. 

Soka's men posted multiple top six finishes in sprint freestyle and butterfly events, earning a third-place team finish. The women gained race experience across the triple-distance format, with solid swims from Skrzypek and Ulian. The Lions will be back in the pool for the GSAC Championship Meet on January 30th - 31st at home.
