MONTEREY PARK, CA - The 2023 PCSC Conference Championship got underway on Wednesday, February 8, as the Lions joined 14 other teams who all gathered for the chance to win the conference title. This year's championship returned to East Los Angeles College Swim Stadium after three years, with spectators filling in the stands.

The four-day competition was highlighted by Zachary Holt setting a school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.56, along with multiple Lions producing multiple Soka-best swims.

On the last day of the championships, the PCSC recognized 81 graduating seniors before the finals, including Soka's Anthea Mudanye and Mao Fukada. 

"We focus all year on being our best at the end of the season," said Head Coach Adam Crossen. "I am so impressed with how our group of swimmers handled all of the challenges this season brought in and out of the water. To see the smiles on the swimmers' faces and the support of their teammates in the stands and on the deck are what I'll always remember about this group. I really think we showed a lot of character and will come back next year even more motivated and ready to be even better. Our goal is to keep improving and building upon the swims of this season."
