ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The Soka University Lions picked up their first Cal Pac win against La Sierra University on Sunday evening at the Lions' Den. Soka is now 5-2 overall and 1-0 in Cal Pac play.

Soka and La Sierra were level through the first 45 minutes of the match. Jeanna Ceja and Sabrina Benjamin created chances early on but were unable to convert. Kamry Aragon hit the crossbar on her shot in the 39th minute to try and enter the half with the lead.

Jonalynn Valles found the back of the net in the 84th minute for the game winner. Mallorie Barteau assisted on Valles' first collegiate goal.
 
Up next, the Lions will host Whittier for a non-conference match on Friday, September 27, with kick off set for 7 p.m.
