SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Soka University Lions had notable performances at the ACU/TMU/OUAZ/SOKA quad-meet in Surprise, Ariz.
On the men's side,
Keegan Nichols placed in the top five for two events, the 100-yard backstroke (59.91) and the 100-yard butterfly (55.53). Nichols also finished with improved times in both events and his current season's best for both as well.
Rion Kunimoto finished in 7th for the 200-yard freestyle for a season best with a time of 2:00.72.
On the women's side,
Nicole Skrzypek and
Kaili Jiang led the Lions. Skrzypek had a season best in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.55 and placed second overall. Skrzypek added four more points for the Lions with a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.39) and a fifth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.90). Jiang had two third place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.49) and in the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.82). Jiang took a fourth place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.08.
