IRVINE, Calif. – The Soka University Lions traveled to Irvine, Calif. for the OC Triple Distance Invitational to compete in the one-day event, where the men's swim team placed 3rd overall, and the women finished in 4th overall.
On the men's side,
Gabriel Orozco put up a personal best time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 42.31.
Rion Kunimoto nearly beat his personal best time in the same event, missing it by 1/100 of a second with a time of 22.80.
Philips Ametsikor had a strong performance in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:32.70, almost beating his personal best in the event by 0.12.
Zachary Holt placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 28.48 seconds.
On the women's side,
Kaili Jiang had a solid performance, placing 7
th overall in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:49.31.
Hailey Pistochini also had an impressive performance in the same event with a time of 2:49.72, placing 8
th in the event.
Nicole Skrzypek also had a strong performance on the day with a time of 56.15 in the 100-yard freestyle.
