ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Soka University men's golf competed at the Aliso Viejo Shootout on Monday, October 20, 2025, hosted by La Sierra University at Aliso Viejo Country Club. The Lions finished third in the three-team event behind Hope International and La Sierra.
 
Joaquin Belmonte led Soka with an impressive even-par 71, delivering one of his most balanced rounds of the season. His front-nine 33 featured a birdie on the par-3 seventh, and he kept a steady rhythm through the back nine to finish strong. Belmonte took home the individual title for the Shootout.
 
Ethan Tseng followed with a solid 79, highlighted by consistent play on the par 4s and steady recovery shots throughout the round.
 
Jason Ho carded a 96, while Nobu Mita rounded out the Lions' lineup with a 111 on the challenging 6,555-yard layout.
