BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – The Soka University men's and women's golf teams competed at the Laughlin Ranch Invitational hosted by OUAZ on March 2
nd through March 3
rd. Both teams played 36 holes across two rounds on the par-72 layout.
In Round 1,
Ethan Tseng led the Lions with a 79 (+7), followed closely by
Joaquin Belmonte at 80 (+8).
SeongYun Kim posted an 89 (+17), while
Tse-Shiun Ho recorded a 104 (+32).
Nobuaki Mita posted 118 (+46) to close out the first round.
In Round 2, Tseng and Kim each carded 88 (+16) to pace Soka, with Belmonte finishing at 91 (+19) and Ho adding a 102 (+30). Mita posted 125 (+53) to close the inviational.
Kim's performance marked a career-best score, highlighting his continued development and consistency. Tseng finished the event 38th overall in the individual standings.
On the women's side,
Mariah Brooks led the Lions with rounds of 79 (+7) and 82 (+10). Her consistent play earned her a tie for 12th place in the field.
Linnea Yamamoto recorded rounds of 80 (+8) and 93 (+21), finishing 30th overall.
Beini Tang posted rounds of 109 (+37) and 116 (+44), while
Mizuki Yano recorded scores of 115 (+43) and 120 (+48).
