LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Soka University Lions outdoor track and field program competed at the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Fest held on the campus of Occidental College at the Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday, March 8th.

Keito Newman set a new school record for the outdoor 4x100 Relay with a time of 42.73. The previous record holders finished with a time of 43.51 and held onto the record for nearly 12 years. Washiya also set a personal record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.67 seconds.
