BUCKEYE, AZ- The Soka University Lions traveled to Buckeye, AZ and closed their Fall season at the Arizona Christian Fall Invitational over the course of two days at Verrado Gold Club. Soka's
Linnea Yamamoto and
Hina Ebata competed on the women's side, and
Max Takaku and
Leo Takaku represented the men's team.
For the women, the 35-competitor field saw Soka's Yamamoto (85, 84) 23
rd overall, shooting a combined 169 over the two-day event, while Ebata (103, 94) combined for a 197 for a 34th place finish in her third event of the year.
Of the men's 67-competitor field,
Leo Takaku (89, 94, 95) finished 67th with a three-round combined score of 278, while
Max Takaku (86, 91, 95) finished 66
th overall, shooting a combined 278.
"The men's and women's golf team participated in the ACU Fall invite at the Verrado Golf Club in Buckey, AZ," said Head Coach
Nancy Mockett. "Playing as individuals, the team continues to be in a learning and improvement phase. Each week has provided valuable experiences and unique challenges. Linnea finished in the top 25 as an individual, and Hina placed in the top 35. Max and Leo played very consistently and had many benchmarks for future progress."
Up next, the Lions' will trave to Vallejo, CA ,in February 2024 for the Cal Maritime Invite.
